In order to play at my best over the course of 18 holes, I am very particular about my routine on tournament days.
I always arrive at the course an hour and a half before my tee time. During that hour and a half I take time to stretch, put on sun cream and practice. Again my practise follows a very particular routine.
I spend 10 minutes chipping, 10 minutes putting and 20 minutes hitting. My last shot is always my first shot of the first tee.
I carry yardages as well as my caddy. The caddy marks the pins and I ensure all the slopes on the greens are marked.
During a round I eat the following:
- 5th hole Half a Powerbar
- 7th hole Half a Powerbar
- 10th hole Banana
- 14th hole Half a Powerbar
- 16th hole Half a Powerbar
I only drink water, probably a bottle every three holes although in hot climates maybe more.
