British Masters

We arrived back into Aberdeen airport at 11 30am from Portugal then it was a quick change and re-pack the bags to drive down to Newcastle.  I hit some balls on Wednesday morning and realised straight away I was struggling with my left foot. I decided it would be best to head home to rest it as playing I felt could have made it worse.  I hope the event goes well and the crowds create a great atmosphere.

Portugal Masters

Sept 21-24

We had the Morrisons and the Reids with us last week in Portugal, which is always good fun.  The weather all week was superb and the course, as usual, was in good condition.  I shot 69-69-71-67 -8 and in a tie for 34th position.  We flew home on Tuesday morning so had all day Monday at the pool, which was great.

Sat 16 September

Craig , Michael and myself were at Pittodrie on Saturday for the Kilmarnock game.  We played lovely for the first 20 mins then really struggled with some pretty poor stuff but it's still early season and TBF their still unbeaten in the league after 5 games so it's all good.

Saturday was my first home game of the season but hope to get to more games this winter

RSM Golf Day

Tuesday 12th September

I was down in London playing with RSM staff and customers at Coombe Hill GC last Tuesday.  I gave a short-game clinic in the morning then played one hole with each group.  It was a lovely day and I was very impressed with the condition of the course at Coombe Hill.  The greens are pretty small with some decent slopes which makes it short but tricky. I had a great time with everyone and hope all the golfers enjoyed their day

PLF Flag Finals

Sunday 3rd September

Today, we had nearly 40 kids at PLGC who had all qualified throughout the year in the under 10s and 12s flag events.  As always, we had some brilliant scoring and great to see the boys and girls all playing with a smile on their faces and enjoying their golf.  After the prize giving I gave a short-game clinic for all the kids and their parents which was good fun. Massive thanks to Foundation Manager, Michael Macdougall, and his assistant, Simon Hanson, for all their hard work through the season.  Thank you to all the golf clubs for allowing the kids to play and of course thank you to the parents for being the taxi drivers to their Wee Angels.

Peter Lloyd Funeral

Marian , Michael MacDougall and myself were down in Coatbridge on Friday to attend the funeral of former Secretary of the PGA Scottish Region, Peter Lloyd.  Peter was in charge of the Region when I started to play Pro-Ams in the late eighties/early nineties. I always really enjoyed Peter's company and he was always very good to Marian and I.  RIP my friend.
