I hit balls at Plgc in the morning working mainly on rolling right foot more on downswing and getting hands lower at impact as right foot and hands have been creeping up again at impact which is an old habit that creeps back from time to time .
Craig and I were at pittodrie in the afternoon to watch Aberdeen beat Ross county 3-1 , it was an awful first half from Aberdeen but much better second half and nice for them to pick up the three points
The alliance was at Newburgh today I played with Craig , Sean and Michael Macdougall. my back was pretty stiff early on but slackened off as I starting swinging and hitting , I shot 66-5 which was the most it could have been as I had a three putt and a four putt in there , as has been the case most weeks for the alliances some of the pins were again today totally stupid especially the first green which was horrendous which is a shame as there's no need. The greens at Newburgh today for this time of year were magnificent and as always I really enjoyed playing it
We had our second PLF Winter Series event at Murcar Links this morning , we had 13 pros with Greig hutcheon and Greg Mcbain scoring 65-4 then Scott Henderson 67 , Phillip Mclean 68 and Terry Mathieson picking up last cheque with 70 , the course as always was superb big thanks to everyone at murcar for hospitality
I walker round Oldmeldrum yesterday with Craig , Sean and Michael Macdougall. I was suppose to play but my back has been bad for a few days now so was unable to play. It was a lovely day and the course was excellent , PLGC was the sponsor which gives each prize winner another £10 onto their winnings which is a great idea which were happy to support , Sean shot 67-3 , Craig 70 Lvl and Mikey 71
Delighted to announce we have added Kevin Duncan to our stable of supported professionals , Kevin will wear the PLF logo on all clothes and will be attached to Plgc where he will have full use of all facilities , Kevin has been impressive so far in the north east alliance circuit and were keen to help him progress with his chosen career , like all our pros Kevin will receive a set amount of money up front then will earn bonus payments depending where he finishes in events , we wish him all the best
I played at Fraserburgh yesterday with Craig, my nephew Sean, and foundation manager Michael MacDougall. Craig was best with 65 then I was 67, Sean 69 and Mikey 81-7. it was really good to play there again as its been a while. It was a lovely day with little wind and pretty mild. I hit some balls at Plgc for a couple of hours after we got back
Craig had a disappointing day shooting 78+6 which I think came through frustration of hitting it good all week and holing no putts , but it's all good experience for him and he'll know what to expect next time. Congrats to everyone who qualified at each venue and all the best at final school next week, especially the scots lads. We're staying at Barcelona airport tonight then fly home tomorrow ready for the alliance at Fraserburgh on Wednesday morning
Craig shot 72 again today and again he played really good and missed putt after putt for birdie which is frustrating for him and his spectator ..... It's all good experience for him but I doubt he's thinking that right now
Craig shot 72 Lvl par today , it was pretty much the same story as yesterday where he hit it nice but struggled on the greens , again he hit a lot of lovely putts but holed nothing , the weather was again perfect with scoring really low
Craig shot 73+1 today which was frustrating for him as he hit it really good from tee to green but holed nothing all day on the greens , scoring was really good as theirs loads of chances so hopefully he'll get some birdies tomorrow , it was another lovely day with no wind and pretty hot
I'm in Spain this week with Craig who is playing in the second stage of qualifying school at panoramica GC. We flew yesterday to Barcelona then hired a car for the two hour journey , this week is a 72 hole event with no cut. I walked round with Craig this morning the course is very nice with the greens rolling lovely
We will be running one day 18 hole events for invited pros this winter , we had our first one at Montrose yesterday with 13 players taking part and five cheques up for grabs 300,200,150,100,50. It was a lovely day with the course in superb condition and scoring very good , david law won with 64-7 , I was next with 65-6 then four players shared third place on 67-4 who were Greig hutcheon , Greg McBain, Kevin Duncan and Craig Lawrie. Thanks to everyone at Montrose for looking after us.
I was at Parkhead with Craig , Michael and Sean to watch Aberdeen lose 3-1 to Celtic in the lunchtime kick off , we had a few chances but overall Celtic played well and deserved the victory , we are staying at Loch Lomond tonight and playing there early tomorrow morning before heading back up the road
