28 & 29 March

I played 9 holes this morning with my wee pal Alan Reid which was good fun but I'm still struggling with my shoulder and neck but it was good to play a few holes , at night Alan got us tickets to see Houston Rockets v La Clippers at the Toyota centre which was great entertainment.   Alan also invited along George Booth and his son Finlay which was nice of him.    We all had a great time and our tickets were pretty much court side which was amazing to see these guys so close up

I flew to Houston this morning to play in 2 company golf days on Monday and Tuesday for long term sponsors Pentagon Freight and Hunting Oilfield Services which will both be at Carlton Woods which is a fantastic set up in Woodlands

26 & 27 March

I was down at fairmont St. Andrews bay this morning to meet EnQuest about their golf day which was good fun , I returned to PLGC to hit some balls and work on the putting which is looking really good.

I flew down to Manchester this afternoon with My father in law Burt to watch the man utd v man city game at old Trafford which was his birthday present from us , Man U were a bit poor and man city were pretty good with the game finishing 3-0 to city but it was still good to go and Bert loved it so that was cool

22 & 23 March

We had some lunch in Union Square then watched the parade down Union Street which was really busy and fantastic to see a cup in Aberdeen again they got a great turn out which is good as they all deserve it

I was down at Archerfield today with youngest Lawrie Michael as he was playing for Sgu academy team against Loretto school in a friendly he struggled a bit shooting 84 but all good experience for him , Marian and Craig went to pittodrie to see Aberdeen beat Kilmarnock 2-1 with a good crowd of 17k also there

Wednesday 19th March

I played at Portlethen this morning in second round of north east alliance championship where I shot 73 which wasn't very good. It was pretty windy and I missed a lot of putts but congrats to Greig Hutcheon who won by three shots over the 36 holes .
In the afternoon Ritchie Ramsay and myself were at the Aberdeen sick kids hospital to announce the Archie foundation as the official charity of this years Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open at Royal Aberdeen which is great news as the hospital is vital to this area. Ritchie and I played putting comps with a few of the kids then spent a few minutes with other kids who couldn't leave the wards. We donated the portable putting  green and some putters etc from PLGC so I hope the kids enjoy using it

Sunday 16th March

We were all at the league cup final today with alan/val Reid and their two boys it was a fantastic atmosphere from start to finish , the actual game was pretty poor but who cares eh the result was brilliant so chuffed for everyone involved at AFC , as you can imagine the traffic was horrific on way home and took us 4 hours but again who cares we were all really happy   🐏🐏🐏🔥. 👏

Saturday 15th March

Our younger son Michael is in the SGU golf academy programme who are meeting this weekend at the inverclyde sports centre in Largs and I was asked to do a q&a for each group which I did from 2-5pm which was good fun with some very good questions from the boys and girls , we are staying at the seamills hydro in west Kilbride which is very nice

12 & 13 March

I played at buckpool today in the first round of the north east alliance championship it was a lovely day with hardly a breeze , I shot 65-5 which was a good effort as I havnt played 18 holes since the dubai desert classic in early feb and I only had 8 clubs in total which I like to do from time to time which improves feel and makes you manufacture shots

Today I had a press conference for the SPFL re Sundays league cup final and also some pictures with the trophy but I made sure I never touched it once

Sunday 9th March

I played twelve holes at Deeside this morning with Craig and Michael which was the first golf I've played this week and actually hit it and putted nicely shooting -3 which was one worse than Craig who played lovely to shoot -4 (ahhhhh) lol

Saturday 8th March

Marian and I were invited to the Aberdeen v Dumbarton match at pittodrie by Barry Duncan of CNR international who has been a good friend for along time we both really enjoyed it especially the result which to be fair could easily have been a draw but ended up 1-0 to the dons

Friday 7th March

We had a press conference at PLGC to announce EnQuest making my foundation one of their two nominated charities for this year along with archway which is fantastic news and very good of them indeed.

I have struggled with my neck this week so have been unable to hit any balls but have managed to hit hundreds of putts which is starting to feel much better

On Thursday I attended Kingswells Primary School where I gave a Q&A as part of the school's Life & Ethos series of assemblies.  It was great fun with the kids asking some really good questions.  The whole school (450 pupils) sang a song at the start of the Assembly - they sang beautifully!

5th March

Since getting home from Las Vegas I have been pretty busy at PLGC working on my putting getting back to simple thoughts such as low on backstroke and hold on the follow through. I have also been at pittodrie to watch Aberdeen beat Celtic then St Johnstone - It's fantastic to see the football club doing so well. I was also down to Stirling to see sports psychologist john mathers which is going well but a work in progress and a big job for him. Today I was at royal Aberdeen with European Tour staff to walk round the course as part of site visits for AAM Scottish Open which was interesting to listen to how they go about setting up the course it's going to be a great week when it comes.
