No pro am for me today so I went up to the course at 9am this morning.   I started off on the range hitting a couple of buckets of balls then I did some short game and putting.   After lunch Andy and I walked the course which is in fantastic condition, as always.   It was extremely hot today so I went back to the hotel at 3.30pm.   I tee off late tomorrow at 2pm.

Tuesday 29th June 2010
I played nine holes yesterday at Deeside with Craig and Michael and hit quite a few short putts at home.   I also had an appointment with Gillian, my osteopath.   This morning I was out at Pine Lodge hitting balls then I met Michael at Deeside for lunch.   I fly to Paris tonight for this weeks French Open at Paris National..........looking forward to it.

BMW 4RD 69+65+68+74=276 (-12)

A very frustrating day today after hitting it so well the first three days.   I struggled a bit but still hit it good enough to break 70 had the putter been behaving itself.   It's a pity as I deserved much more than 17th this week but that's golf.  I played with the winner today, David Horsey, he played  lovely and is also a really nice guy.  I fly at 5pm from Munich direct to Aberdeen.

BMW 3RD 69+65+68=202 (-14)

I played good again and finished with a 68 to be fourteen under which is a few more than I deserved as I had quite a few missed chances but you should never complain shooting four under.   I have improved my position and I'm right in there for tomorrow which is why we play the have a chance on Sunday afternoons.

BMW 2RD 69+65=134 (-10)

I played awesome today and rolled in a few putts to shoot 65.   The greens were extremely nice this morning and quick   Scoring is quite low as there are quite a few chances out there.

BMW 1RD 69 (-3)

Three under par 69 today, I played really good from tee to green giving myself so many chances.   I putted ok without really holing much but the greens in the afternoon were quite bumpy which is normal with so many players on them.   Just heading back to hotel for some room service and an early night as I haven't slept well so far this week.
Wednesday 23rd June 2010
I played in the pro am this morning with three German lads, two of whom work for Bayern Munich.   It was a lovely day and we had a laugh.   I hit it pretty nice and made a few birdies.   The course is in very good condition especially the greens which are rolling pretty fast.

I was at the Carrick on Loch Lomond yesterday for a company day.   There were 18 teams teeing off in a 10am shotgun, I hit a shot with each group on the 14th and the person closest in each group received the golf ball I hit which I also signed.   There was some great banter with the teams and some memorable shots both good and bad.   (There was a 7 yard pre shot walk in routine and a buggy crash involving some dodgy driving)  both in the same group I may add.   My thanks to everyone involved, I hope you all enjoyed the day.    I am writing this from the BA Terminal 5 lounge on my way to Munich for this week's BMW International Open.

Marian and I were at Insch today for the Insch & District Football Festival, my Foundation sponsored the event again for a second year.   We took our inflatable nets and the kids received free golf lessons from two PGA pros in between their football matches.   It was a little cold and windy but yet again it was a great day and very well organised by the committee.

In the evening we were at the 'Help for Heroes' dinner at the Marcliffe with our friends.......Alan & Val Reid, Brian & Audrey Morrison, Colin & Wendy Fraser and Willie & Barbara Donald.   It was a great event and I'm sure they managed to raise a considerable amount of money for a great cause.

I was at the Carrick today for a Wilson Staff golf day.   The weather was fantastic and the course was superb.   I played four holes with four groups of three.   In the morning I gave a clinic for everyone with included some short game.
Wednesday 16th June 2010
We had breakfast in the spikes bar this morning then I drove home.   I was at Culter Primary School this afternoon opening their new library which is really nice.   Well done to parents, teachers and the kids.   I cut the ribbon then the kids sang some songs which was really good.   I signed autographs for the kids on all sorts of strange items from cups, scraps of paper, forearms, hats etc.   I was also presented with an elephant all beautifully coloured in by Aiden.   Thanks to everyone for making me so welcome.
Tuesday 15th June 2010
I stayed at Cameron House last night then this morning I played at Loch Lomond with Alan Reid and two of his guests.   It was a great day and and the weather was superb.   Adam came along today and watched me hit a few balls and he also walked a few holes.   We are staying at the Carridge House tonight and I'll head up the road tomorrow.
Monday 14th June 2010
I played on the Gleneagles Queens course today with guests of Simmons & Company International.   I gave a clinic on the range in the morning then played 3 holes with each group, followed by dinner in the hotel.   I'm staying at Cameron House tonight then playing at Loch Lomond tomorrow with guests from Hunting Welltonic.   The weather was lovely at Gleneagles let's hope for the same tomorrow.
Saturday 12th June 2010
I played in the Kemnay pro am this afternoon, I shot 71 (+1) I struggled quite a bit especially at the start +3 after three holes.   Craig, Michael and their friend, Jamie Pryde were my team, the boys were only one shot off a team prize.   They played well but unfortunately had a bad finish.   Kemnay was in magnificient condition, it has turned into a really good course and it's always nice going back to play there.   Greg Hutcheon won with a very good 65.
Friday 11th June 2010
I hit balls at Pine Lodge early this morning then played 9 holes at Deeside with David Law and Laura Murray who are two of my Foundation team.   I just came out on top but it was a close game.   Good luck to both Philip and David in the British Amateur next week at Muirfield.
Thursday 10th June 2010

I was up in Aviemore yesterday playing in the pro am at Spey Valley, the venue for this week's Scottish Cahllenge.   I drove up in the morning with my team....Alan Reid, Iain Powell and David Law.   We all had a great day despite the cool conditiions.   Iain Soddart, venue promotor asked me to do a Q & A session for the pro am teams which I was more than happy to do.

Today I left the house early to drive to Kingsfield to meet Adam, I hit some balls, played a few holes and did some short game.   We also popped into Stevie Gallacher's for a cup to tea afterwards.

I played 9 holes with Colin Fraser at Deeside in the afternoon (another ear bashing about his swing!!)

Tuesday 8th June 2010

I hit balls at Pine Lodge on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.  Even though I have two weeks off, it's important to keep things ticking over.

Yesterday I played golf at Royal Aberdeen with my main sponsor Alpesh of Kalixa and my management duo 'Tweedle Dee' and 'Tweedle Dum'    Alpesh and I eventually ran out winners by 2 & 1.   The weather was kind and the course was magnificent.   There are now quite a few ball with 'AP' on scattered around the course courtesy of Alpesh.   Marcus and Jamie showed why they manage and don't play!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Harsh but true lads)

Congratulations to Julie Yang and Scott Gibson for winning the girls and boys Scottish Schools Championship yesterday at Murrayshall.   We have been sponsors of the event for a few years now and it seems to get better and better, well done to all the players and officals.   Please go to the Foundation page to see results and photos.

Here was me thinking taking 11 at the second last week was bad but this week Michael has beaten me twice over the Deeside 9 holer (with shots) and Craig beat me tonight scratch which is really good but I thought it might have been a wee while before that happened!!! (big glass of wine in hand) kids eh you've got to love them!

Celtic Manor 2RD 72+74=146 (+4)

I went to the turn today in 30 (-5) I played awesome and could have birdied every hole.   At the par 5 second hole (my tenth) I made an 11, I was on the green in three and then 8 putted.   The pin was right next to a large slope and I misjudged my first putt then spent the next 5 minutes going up and down the slope.   I felt physically sick and  it is without doubt the most bizarre thing I've ever done.   Yet again this week I've played really good in spells and got nothing.   I fly home at 6.30pm tonight and I have the next two weeks off.
Thursday 3rd June 2010

Celtic Manor 1RD 72 (+1)

I played lovely for the first ten holes today to be three under, I made a double bogey seven at the 11th by hitting my second shot in the water then three putted.   I also bogeyed the 12th and double bogeyed the 14th.   It all added up to 72 one over par which should have been a few less but unfortunately that's not possible.
Wednesday 2nd June 2010
Andy's back was no better this morning so he decided to head home (big girl)   I played the pro am this morning with three good lads who provide the hotel with tv systems.   The course is in excellent condition and the weather was really nice.   I have enjoyed good weeks here at Celtic Manor in the past so it's always nice to come back.
Tuesday 1st June 2010
I flew to Bristol at 12pm with Eastern Airways who were really good, no queue at check in and nice lounge staff.   I arrived at Celtic Manor around 3pm and managed to do some practise.   Andy, my caddie has a bad back and is unlikely to work this week so he has arranged a guy called Chris to caddie for me tomorrow and then we will see how his back is.
