We walked up the strip yesterday morning to the m&ms store to buy some personalised sweets which are really cool they have a shop on 4 levels selling everything you could think of with m&ms on it , then we went to the outlet mall for a while in the afternoon
In the evening we went to the celine dion show at Caesars palace which was very good indeed what a voice we have seen some very good shows but she was probably the best , we fly home tomorrow afternoon
We went on the big bus tour today which took us firstly downtown then up and down the strip which was interesting and let us see some places we haven't seen yet mind you the tour guides talked some pish !!!!! Then tonight we went to see the show le reve at the Wynn hotel where we're staying which was incredible and by far the best show yet (mind you celine is tomorrow)
We flew to the Grand Canyon today by helicopter which was amazing to see the whole trip lasted one and a half hours and was incredible to see , we are going to see the jersey boys tonight which is supposedly the number 1 show in Vegas
We went to our second show tonight which was soul 2 soul with Tim McGraw and faith hill which was again very good and was in the Venitian theatre next door to where we're staying , tomorrow we are taking the helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon
We went to our first show tonight (Friday) which was shania twain which was brilliant we both really enjoyed it , we had dinner at Caesars palace before the show our waiter said I'll be right back with your drinks then I can help you negotiate the menu lol
The show lasted just under two hours and was very entertaining she was out in the crowd quite a bit , tomorrow night were seeing Tim McGraw and faith hill.
I walked round Nairn Dunbar with Michael on Sunday morning as he was playing in the Sgu winter series. He didn't have a good day and shot 81 +9 he was only +2 after 11 but struggled coming in but he hasn't played much so no big deal , then Marian and I were up in Turriff for dinner with the Morrisons and the Reids which was good fun and to discuss our sponsored walk for this year which is going to be the east highland way the week after the open will post more info nearer the time
Marian and I flew to Las Vegas on Wednesday morning for a weeks holiday as we've never been to Vegas so should be great fun were going to see celine dion and shania twain as well as a few other shows
I had a few meetings but have spent most of my time practicing my putting at PLGC on our new indoor putting green. I've hit most putts with the toe of the putter resting against a block of wood to make sure putter works straight back straight through on shorter putts that's what I like to see. My neck is better but back been iffy I'm falling to bits !!!
Great result from AFC at parkhead today beating Celtic 2-1 with goals from Russell Anderson and Peter Pawlett
I was in to see Gillian Mitchell this morning for my usual crunch which was perfect timing as my neck has been a bit sore. Then I had a press conference at PLGC to announce PLGC as main sponsor of the Northern Open this year which will be played at Murcar Golf Links. We also announced my Invitational will be an order of merit event for the first time this year and thirdly we announced the PGA Scottish region will come on board our PLGC Scottish ladies tartan tour. We had a very good turnout from the press boys ( free bacon rolls helps ) so it was a busy morning but very good to get all 3 things announced together.
I flew from Abu Dhabi into Frankfurt as I was filming a video for Caledonia putters today which was good fun and was filmed at the indoor golf centre which is very nice and pretty handy in the winter. I also got the chance to test some new grooves and see some new models which look great. I fly home to Aberdeen tonight very tired indeed
Very frustrating today as I hit it magnificent all day but missed putt after putt and shot 73+1 which is incredible but that's what it was so not much you can do. Overall this week was better on the greens as I only hit a few poor putts and just didn't make many but I'll keep working hard at it to improve. I fly to Frankfurt tonight to film a video for caledonia putters tomorrow then home on Monday evening which I'm very much looking forward to.
Huge congrats to Stevie Gallacher who showed great character on the back nine to win by 1 shot and be the first person to defend the Dubai Desert Classic which gets him into the top 50 of world rankings which is great, he deserves it.
Today is known as moving day but I just couldn't get it going at all. I struggled to get it close enough to make birdies and I made a double bogey at the fifth which doesn't help so overall a level par 72 was about right. Again this week I have hit my share of greens but haven't taken my chances very well but I have putted nicely and it doesn't feel too far away. What a fantastic run from Stevie G playing the final ten holes in ten under to be 2 shots ahead.......... all the best tomorrow min
