PGA lunch London

I was down in London today to attend the annual PGA lunch and to receive their recognition award for my contribution to the game , which was very nice of them to honour me in that way but as you can imagine there have been many people who have helped me get where we are today.  To all the pga coaches who have helped me,  my wife Marian has been incredible , of course Stewart Spence and Martin Gilbert , Doug Smart the Banchory pro where I served my time would have been very proud ( and probably amazed ).  I joined the pga in 1986 as a 5 handicapper with no clue about the game they have taught me a lot which I will always be very grateful for

Wednesday 16th Dec

I was at the PGA of Scotland lunch yesterday with a few of the foundation pros , Mikey , caddie Davy and Craig Dempster from PLGC. I hadn't been for a few years so was good to meet up with old faces from years ago , Paul Mcginley was guest of honour and gave a brilliant insight into his captaincy at Gleneagles , he really went the extra mile with preparation and dedication to the role  , I was suppose to be at holyrood today for a meeting with visit and event Scotland as well as alex Salmond and Mike Loggie from saltire energy but it was cancelled at 4pm so headed up the road

Saturday 12th December

I hit balls this morning at PLGC working on distances with wedges and also continued working on rolling right foot more on downswing , Craig Michael and I were at pittodrie for the lunchtime game between Aberdeen and hearts , Aberdeen won 1-0 which was about right and a really good and important result , I was on the pitch at half time for a picture with the Russell Anderson academy kids which we support financially through the foundation

Friday 11th December - Foundation Pro Winter Series Cruden Bay

I played at Cruden bay this morning with 12 other foundation / local pros for one of our 18 hole pro series events , there was a bit of frost early so the big course was on winter greens so we player round the 9 holer twice , the front nine was pretty frosty which made it tricky but the back nine was ok , John duff 64 won by one shot from my nephew Sean who was 65 then kris Nicol was next with 67 then Craig , Kevin Duncan and myself were 68 , huge thanks to everyone at Cruden bay for hosting us and to all the catering staff for feeding us we had a great time

Wednesday 9th December

I played at Portlethen this morning in the north east alliance , it was a little cold and windy but ok , the course was very good with just preferred lies and no mats which was brilliant , I shot 64-6 to win by one shot from John duff , the alliance will now take a four week break over Christmas and new year

Saturday 5th December

I was over at PLGC this morning to hit balls before the Aberdeen game which was a lunchtime kick-off. I also recorded a video message for an award I'm due to receive next week in recognition of my playing career and the work of the Foundation, as I can't make the presentation because of prior commitments.
It was a very good 2-0 win for Aberdeen away to Dundee with all the damage and goals in the first half and they seem to be back to winning ways after a poor run

Friday 4th December

Marian and I were up at Skibo castle last night for a meeting with the management about extending my attachment agreement which thankfully  has happened 😃😃😃

We always love spending time up there as it's absolutely beautiful and is without doubt my favourite place in the world

Wednesday 2nd December

North East Alliance
I was playing at Buckpool GC today in the north east alliance with Craig and Sean , we had some awful weather for our first 7 holes with heavy rain and strong winds which made it really tough. I shot 70 Lvl par which was good effort as I really struggled off the tee today , Craig won with 67-3 which was an excellent score when we played , as always buckpool was in excellent condition with summer medal tees and none of the silly pin positions we have seen in recent weeks
