This morning I was at Meldrum playing in a short game competition with my Foundation Team. We each had ten balls at 40, 60 and 80 yards and the winner was the person who had the most points according to the trackman machine (which of course was me! ha ha) Ross Cameron was second, Michele Thomson was third, Philip McLean was fourth, Graeme Lornie fifth and poor David Law was last. It was great fun and something I will be doing more of. Thanks to Neil Marr for organising and keeping score.
Today I was down in St Andrews on behalf of my main sponsor Aberdeen Asset Management with the elite SGU squad. The boys were given media training and were able to ask me questions about life on tour. It was extremely well organised and I hope the boys took something from the day.
Paul Lawrie Foundation Footie Fours
This year the Paul Lawrie Foundation has sponsored a series of football tournaments run by Jockie Lawrence of Futebol de Salao. The children enter a team of four and they play against each team entered in their age group. The Foundation is also sponsoring Jockie to teach FDS football skills in schools in the North East.
Marian, myself and the boys were in Manchester for a few days, very kindly invited us down to visit the training ground at Carrington and then to watch them play Sunderland at Old Trafford. We had a great time, Sir Alex, his PA Lynne and all the players were fantastic with us.
