Made in Denmark

Last week I was in Aalborg playing in the Made in Denmark event. It was, like last year, a fantastic week with 79,000 fans through the gate which is incredible. I shot rounds of 70,66,72,69 for -7 and 15th equal , I led the greens in regulation stat for the week so my long game is in great shape but again I struggled with the putter but overall it's another good week so loads of positives

Sunday 14th August

I hit balls at PLGCand played 9 holes this morning then spent the afternoon at PLGC Inchmarlo where we had a flag and stableford event with kids from the foundation , it was a beautiful day with both courses looking fantastic. Well done to all the kids and as always thanks to all the parents for being taxi drivers

Hunting Energy Services Golf Day

Hunting energy services golf day at Gleneagles

I was down at Gleneagles today playing the Queens course with 2 groups of staff and customers from Hunting , we hit some balls then I played the front nine with the first group then dropped back to play back nine with second group , it was very windy with some rain showers but also great fun , we finished off with bite to eat in the dormy house which was very nice

Foundation Dinner - Wed 10 Aug

Foundation Dinner - Wednesday 10th August

We were at the Marcliffe last night for our foundation dinner , Sir alex Ferguson was our guest of honour and as you can imagine his Q&A was absolutely brilliant I could listen to him for hours , we had 314 guests in total and raised £43,000 which is a great effort , thanks to all the table sponsors and of course the people who bought auction items your support is always appreciated by Marian and myself Richard Gordon was again excellent as our MC and alex Fleming his usual brilliant cheeky self at the auction , The meal and service at the Marcliffe was as ever perfect

AAM Paul Lawrie Matchplay

Aberdeen Asset Management Paul Lawrie matchplay

We were at Archerfield links last week for the second playing of our matchplay event , the course was immaculate and Archerfield as a venue was top class , thanks to our main sponsor AAM as well as supporting sponsors  Visit Scotland . East Lothian council , Farmfoods and Archerfield links. We had 22 teams who played in the pro am on Wednesday which was followed by an evening reception for everyone , myself and catriona Matthew did a Q&A with Dougie Donnelly after a bite to eat which was good fun , we again had 64 players straight knockout starting on Thursday , I won my first round match against Lucas Berregard but lost in the second round at the 19th against Richard Green which as you can imagine I was gutted about , I was 4 under and lost which of course is matchplay for you.  Anthony Wall was our deserving champion beating alex noren by one hole in the final , Wally hadn't won on tour since his first win in 2000 so we were all chuffed to bits for him , the whole week was great and like last year was very well run by my management company 4sports & entertainment The only negative was again the lack of spectators paying through the door but we understand there's a lot of events in scotland for them to choose from. We hope to see a few more of them next year , but massive thanks to the ones who came and we hope you all enjoyed the week as much as we did

AAM PL Matchplay Qualifier

We had 45 pros playing 18 holes strokeplay today with 1 spot up for grabs in the event this week , it was a beautiful day with some very good scoring , Gareth Wright eventually won in a play off with Chris Kelly after both shot 66-6.  The feedback on the qualifier has been brilliant from all the boys which is nice and I'm really glad we did it
