Sunday 30th August

I was at Deeside today for our Foundation junior open , it was a beautiful day with the course in excellent condition , Sam Locke won  for the third year in a row with an excellent two under par round of 68 , our Michael was second ( for the third year in a row ) with 69 and Benjamin Henderson finished third with 72 , Finlay smith from Ellon won the handicap with a very good 74 nett 65  which was an excellent effort , thanks to everyone at Deeside GC for hosting us and to Michael Macdougall and Marian for all their hard work

Made in Denmark R4

Got off to a horrible start today with a double bogey six at the first hole , then played really nice making 4 birdies and no more dropped shots to shoot 69-2 to finish -10 and in a tie for 6th , felt as though I could have been quite a few less today but overall it was a good performance after the poor start , made in Denmark is a very cool event with again over 80,000 fans there for the week which is incredible and makes for a fantastic atmosphere for everyone

Made in Denmark R3

Hit it really good today to shoot 68-3 to be -8 overall and in a Tie for 7th , felt as though I left a few shots on the greens today as struggled with pace , crowds again incredible all day great atmosphere on every hole

Made in Denmark R2

Shot 72+1 this afternoon which was a good effort as I had a sore right ear which made me struggled with balance all day , I called the doctor out onto the course and saw him after the round to syringe my ear which has made it much better , it was probably slightly tougher today as the wind was a little stronger , again the 16th hole was great fun and probably the best atmosphere on any hole I've ever played

Made in Denmark R1

I played in the 1pm shotgun pro am yesterday with three really good lads who were all good fun , we finished third equal which was good , it was the first time I had played the course as I hurt my back last year and couldn't play , it's a decent layout with some good holes on it especially the short par 3 sixteenth which has a massive bank where loads of spectators sit , it's in good condition with the greens rolling well

Round 1

Hit it ok this morning and putted very well to shoot 65-6 which is a great start to the week , I have been putting much better after putting in the new Proto tour 5 putter from Caledonia and also my new flatso 1.0 putter grip from super stroke long may it continue

Caledonia Golf Day

I flew home from Birmingham on Friday morning then re packed my bag to fly to Frankfurt for a golf day to raise money for former German footballer uli borowkas foundation , Claus from Caledonia Putters supplied the prizes and paid the green fees and food for everyone. I gave a clinic in the morning then played with Claus and his two guests in the afternoon , it was a really good day enjoyed by everyone and raised a few quid which is always good

Farmfoods British Par 3

Michael and I flew down on Wednesday morning for this week's farmfoods British par 3 at Nailcotte Hall near Birmingham. I finished second ,one shot behind the winner Barry lane with 51+53 -4 , Michael was my partner but unfortunately he really struggled but enjoyed it all the same. Huge thanks to Eric Herd at farmfoods as well as all the team at champions UK and of course everyone at nailcotte hall for looking after us

Turriff Pro-Am

On Thursday night we were at pittodrie with the Reids and the morrisons to watch Aberdeen draw 1-1 in second leg of third qualifying round of Europa league which means they are out , it was a full house with a really good atmosphere just a pity they couldn't get the result

On Friday I played in the Turriff pro am with alan Reid , Michael Macdougall and Audrey Morrison which was great fun especially as we won the team event and I came second in the pro individual , it was a lovely day with the course in really good condition , congrats to Gavin hay who shot a very good 63-7

Saltire energy PL matchplay final day

I opened the sky sports show with david livingstone which was good fun then I had 2 Q&A to do before getting out and watching a bit of the golf , fantastic birdie at the last by kiradech aphibarnrat who is our first champion which were very excited about , he played very aggressive this week hitting driver at most holes so fully deserved his win Massive thanks to saltire energy , visit scotland and all other sponsors , murcar links couldn't have been any better the condition of the course was superb as was all the members / volunteers , my management group at 4sports did a magnificent job of promoting / running the event for us , next years date and venue will be announced soon

Saltire Energy PL Matchplay

Congrats to Kiradech Aphibarnrat who is our first Saltire Energy Paul Lawrie mMtchplay Champion. Kiradech beat Robert Karlsson by one hole this afternoon , massive thanks to Mike Loggie at Saltire Energy , to everyone at visit scotland , to all staff and members at murcar links , to all the team at 4 sports for running and promoting the event to a very high standard and of course all of our other sponsors and partners , the week went extremely well don't think we could have asked for more

Saltire Energy PL Matchplay Day 3

Went up to Murcar all day as had Q&A to do in sponsors pavilion by the clubhouse and the entier premium lounge beside the 15th green , I also popped into spectators village to visit the PL Foundation nets and PLGC pro shop which were really busy.

Saltire Energy PL Matchplay Round 2

Had a really close match with Chris Doak today which I lost by 1 hole , I really struggled with ball striking all day , couldn't get the club off the ball at a nice pace for some reason today.  Chris holed a few nice putts which you need to do to keep it going , totally gutted to be knocked out but all the best to Doaky tomorrow morning
