Monday 26th Aug

I hit some balls this morning at PLGC working on the stuff Andrew have given me to do which feels really good for the first time in ages.

We had our Foundation dinner tonight at the Marcliffe where we again had a full house of 320 people with Gordon Strachan and Paul Reid providing the entertainment and both were very very good indeed , again Richard Gordon was our MC and as always was very smooth.  Huge thanks to all the companies who bought tables and of course to all our successful bidders in the auction we raised a very good sum which will be well used by the Foundation , the Marcliffe as always was perfect with a lovely meal and great service

JWC Championship 4RD 70+67+71+70=278 (-10)

Another lovely day of weather at Gleneagles today with no wind whatsoever , after my lesson from Andrew Locke last night I worked on it this morning on the range and it worked a treat as I hit it really good today but holed very few putts but again putted very well , I had to wait until the end of play as I was collecting the Ryder cup for our foundation dinner tomorrow night

JWC Championship 3RD 70+67+71=208 (-8)

Shot 71 -1 today which was pretty poor as no wind all day , I really struggled with my irons again and only hit 10 greens which is awful but always tomorrow , Marian and Michael stayed last night which was nice but they're away home tonight , lets hope I hit it better tomorrow

JWC Championship 2RD 70+67=137 (-7)

Shot 67-5 this morning , hit it really good all day , I went to the driving range last night to work on a few things and it seemed to do the trick , Ricardo Gonzalez is leading at -14 which is very good indeed I'll need a low weekend to have a chance , Marian and Michael are down tonight as Michael is at Kingsfield tomorrow for SGU academy day

JWC Championship 1RD 70 (-2)

I got off to the perfect start by making birdies at the first two holes then hit a poor tee shot at the 8th into bunkers down the left eventually making a double bogey 6 which is the way it's been going this season.   I hit loads of good shots but didn't take my chances then hit one shot off line resulting in a double....... but that's golf.    I birdied the 16th and 18th holes to shoot 70-2 which was a good finish,  I was a bit grumpy today as I feel quite tired with last week being very busy so an early night is on the cards and hopefully I'llcome out firing tomorrow.

Wed 21st Aug

I drove down to Gleneagles this morning for this weeks Johnnie Walker Championship which I'm defending after winning last year.   I had a press conference at 10am then played in the pro am at 12pm.  The course is in very good shape and as always I'm looking forward to playing in Scotland.............. it doesn't get any better.

Tues 20th Aug

Today was the first playing of our new Paul Lawrie Golf Centre challenge match.   I played against Jose Maria Olazabal who flew up from Gleneagles by helicopter.   Amazingly I had a hole in one at the first which was incredible.  Nearly 600 people turned up to watch which was a fantastic turnout.  Huge thanks to Jose for coming, he's a total gentleman and to play with him was an honour.   Massive thanks to Eric Herd of Farmfoods for sponsoring today's event.

Mon 19th Aug

I was at Deeside today for a First Group pro am with Jordon Findlay, David Law, Philip McLean and Kris Nicol, it was a beautiful day weather wise and the day was great fun.   Huge thanks to everyone at First Group for their continued support of me and the four young pros.

Week of 11th Aug
I got home from America on Sunday morning and headed straight to see the kids playing in the flag and stableford at Ellon Golf Club. I had a Hunting golf day at Trump on Tuesday, I played 6 holes with each group. It was brilliant fun and the course has really come on since the last time I played it. We had our platinum members pro am at PLGC on Wednesday, with a shotgun start at 10am and another at 2pm. Huge thanks to all our platinum sponsors and of course to Circles for the fabulous food. I was in Frankfurt for the day on Thursday with my flight leaving at 5.50am so it was a 3.50am alarm call!! On Friday I was at Gleneagles for a Pentagon Freight golf day, I gave a clinic then played 3 holes with each group followed by dinner in the hotel which was all very good. Marian and I were at Pittodrie on Saturday to watch the Aberdeen v Celtic game which finished 2-0 to Celtic. The game was very even until Langfield managed to get himself sent off which meant it was always going to be tough. At night we were out to dinner at Malmaison with Colin & Wendy Fraser, Alan & Val Reid and Brian & Audrey Morrison, it was good fun and it was Colin's turn to pay.......thanks pal
US PGA 2RD 72+72=144 (+4)

72 +2 again meant this week is a missed cut which to be fair is about right as I struggled on Thursday and made two double bogies today.   I hit it much better in the second round and could have been a few shots less but double bogies make it tough.  The course was again very wet which made it alot easier as scoring showed it just wasnt to be for me this week.  I have a week off now then I defend at Gleneagles which should be good fun.

US PGA 1RD 72 (+2)

After overnight rain the course played quite soft so scoring was always going to be better but I was surprised how good it was.  I shot 72 +2 which wasn't to good really and I struggled off the tee so it was decent effort considering where I hit it.   I spent some time on the range after my round and quickly worked out that my changeover was to quick so hit some balls slowing that down..... hopefully I'll hit it better tomorrow.   Jim Furyk and Adam Scott both shot 65 which was impressive.

Wed 7th Aug

I played 9 holes on Tuesday and Wednesday with Stephen Gallacher.    The course is very very good and set up very tough with brutal rough everywhere so scoring will be pretty high IMO  Today we were joined by Tom Watson which was great fun and always nice to see how well Tom still hits the ball.

I also spoke with Doc Bob Rotella today as I do when I'm in America which was good as sometimes you need to chat through some stuff.

WGC Bridgestone

I shot 70 today to finish +2 for the week and in a tie for 27th , I struggled off the tee today and short game was poor so level was a good effort.  There was a bit more wind today which made it tricky.  I fly to Rochester tonight for next weeks PGA championship.

WGC Bridgestone

Today I played with Martin Kaymer and Rory McIlroy which was good fun as we all get on really well and so do the caddies.  I shot 72+1 to be two over for the tournament which is in a tie for 28th.  I made some silly bogeys from the middle of the fairways today but overall from tee to green it was again very solid.  Most weeks have been pretty much the same this year where I'm struggling to score............ I just can't get going in events it would seem but there's plenty of tournaments left to turn that around.

WGC Bridgestone

I shot 69+72 which is +1 for the first 36 holes.  The first round was a bit of a struggle from tee to green but I putted lovely all day and Friday was the opposite as I hit it awesome and putted awful but that's golf I suppose.   I am lying in a tie for 25th so a good weekend would be nice.   Amazingly enough Tiger shot 61 today which round there is afa good.

Wed 31st July

I played the back nine this morning with Stephen Gallacher which was good apart from the rain.  We had a small wager over the last six holes which I just managed to win (3&2 lol) , The course is as always in fantastic condition with the greens running very quick and a little soft.  It's completely opposite to my last event the Open at Muirfield where we had to judge the bounce, this week it's about judging the spin as the course is quite soft.   I picked up the new Taylor Made driver SLDR to try which is very nice and will be straight in the bag for tomorrow.  I play with Jamie Donaldson at 1pm
Craig made it to the third round of the Scottish Amateur this week at Blairgowrie which again is good experience for him, he is improving all the time.
